Mayweather wasted no time confirming rumors that he’s seriously considering a return to fighting–but not in a boxing ring.
“Is it possible that I come back? Yes, but it has to be in the Octagon… But only if the money is right,” said Mayweather whose company Mayweather Promotions was promoting the fight card on Saturday night.
Mayweather also stated that the deal to fight with the UFC would have to include a partnership with Showtime and could be a single fight deal or a multi-fight arrangement.
Mayweather’s last boxing fight, which included a circus pre-fight promotion and an eventual stoppage victory against Conor McGregor, was thought to be Mayweather’s last fight.
But, as is always the case with Money May, Mayweather is considering a comeback because of the outrageous amounts of money that may be offered. A fight against McGregor in the Octagon would make sense because of the storyline and hype that was garnered during their press tour in 2017.
Mayweather did confirm that a fight against McGregor in the Octagon is an option.
