Shakur Stevenson (3-0, 1 KO) was untouchable tonight against Argentinian David Paz (4-4-1).

The Olympic silver medalist toyed with Paz throughout the entire fight, catching him with far too many counter punches to the head and even more combinations to the body.

Paz clearly didn’t have any answers for Stevenson’s speed and technique and it showed in his lack of success at landing punches.

Stevenson dropped Paz in the fifth round with a three-punch combination to the head, though was unable to finish him.

As ESPN commentator Teddy Atlas put it, Stevenson is so interesting to watch because unlike so many fighters today, he is not a search and destroy fighter. Every move he makes is calculated and will only become better as he gains experience in the future.

This kid is definitely one to watch as time goes on. Though not the greatest finisher yet, Stevenson showed why boxing is called “the sweet science” tonight.
