“Vicious” Victor Ortiz (32-6-2, 25 KO) was faced with his last chance to possibly return to the upper echelons of boxing tonight against little known fighter Saul Corral in Bakersfield, California.
Fortunately for Ortiz, he cleaned himself up both as a boxer and a man ever since his loss to Andre Berto in 2016 and his son’s birth earlier in 2017. Corral stood no chance as Ortiz showcased that he is not done with boxing yet.
Ortiz teed off on Corral, showing a strong mix of boxing and brawling until the fourth round.
“Vicious” Victor knocked Corral down and nearly out with a beautiful left hand and nearly dropped him again seconds later with a three punch combination, warranting referee Jack Reiss to end the bout.
In the post-fight interview, Ortiz told the crowd that “this was just the beginning” and looks forward to continue fighting better and better fighters in the near future.
